About Recycling Babies

I am a rather new stay at home mom, but I am loving it! I decided to stay at home after the birth of my son, Kage, in December 2007. Prior to my life as a mom, I worked as a graphic designer for a wonderful software company designing printed marketing material. It was quite hard making the decision to leave behind a great job and career, but once my son was born I knew in my heart it was the right decision for us.

Even though I left my job, I didn’t leave behind my love for being creative. I wanted to find a way to incorporate my passion to be creative with my growing desire to live a “green” life. I do my best to keep our family’s eco-footprint small. It is an ongoing process of learning and changing habits, but it is something that we all feel good about.

In combining my creativity with our “green” lifestyle, Recycling Babies was born. Finding ways to upcycle an older clothing item in to something new is so rewarding. On occasion, I do use some new materials, but I try to keep that to a minimum or use organic/sustainable material when possible. If you have an idea for me, I would love to hear it!

Thrift store and yard sale shopping is a border line obsession of mine. Just ask my husband. Saturdays are the only day I get up early so I can hit the sales. I love searching for those hidden treasures just waiting to be found. I personally shop for each and every item I reuse and I am very picky about quality. Maintaining a top quality product is very important to me.

Being a mom is still priority number one for me, so for now I expect that my volume will stay fairly low. I do most of my work while my son is sleeping - I am sure most of you know how that is! But, customer service is key for me so I will always to my best to respond to you ASAP. Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Thanks for supporting a new WAHM and happy recycling!

Sincerely,
Michelle
